UPDATE: It's about PRICE, QUALITY & UNIQUENESS

Hello Everybody. I'm sorry it's been a while since my last blog entry. I've been so busy making my earring in my Breckenridge, Colorado retail store that I haven't been able to blog my friends, customers and retailers in quite a while.

In a recession it's about price and how things make people feel!

Sales of my origami earrings have been amazing lately and I think I know why: price! And I know what I'm talking about because I have two retail stores in Colorado and my higher priced Jewelry doesn't sell nearly as fast as my "right priced" origami earrings that I make myself!

Besides being great gifts and cute, the price is right. Gifts under $30 are the key to retail success these days. Budgets are tight, but people still want to accesorize and get gifts for others!

Our list of retailers across the country has also grown to over 100. We have been accepted into many museum stores, botanic gardens and fine boutiques across the nation, especially in Colorado, Oregon, California and Texas.

We have also contributed our origami jewelry designs to many non-profit causes such as The Grand Lake Cancer Foundation Walk, The Middle Park Medical Foundation, The Breckenridge Film Festival and more.

NEW DESIGNS AND NEW PAPER: Take a look at some of our new designs below. The tulips are tricky to fold and laquer, but I think they will be a hit this spring. The turtles are also challenging, but I hope women love them! I hope you enjoy!

Modeling my origami earrings

Women love these earrings because they say the are "so cute!" I think the also remind them of their gentle yet strong character. When you wear these lightweight earrings you feel so special knowing you are wearing something folded by hand out of Japanese Washi (hand-made paper).

I had a photographer come into my Breckenridge boutique, (The Flying Crane), and he volunteered to take some pictures of me wearing my origami earrings. Of course I took him up on the offer and thought of all my blog readers right away! Hope you enjoy.

New origami earring collection launch at Terra Wellness Fundraiser

Hello and welcome to my origami earring blog! My name is Lua Ton.
My sister and I are proud to have launched our new origami jewelry line this past weekend (June 7, 2008) in Denver at Bliss Salon during a fundraiser for Terra Wellness Center in support of breast cancer survivors!
Many pictures from that day are posted here by request of many attendees.

Wonderful surviors below. "Yes I'm a survior!"
Our hosts wearing our earrings below:
So here is a little bit of information about our earrings:

*Hand folded with love and attention
*Japanese Washi paper
*Sterling Silver
*Beads at the bottom of posts for extra sweet touch
*Laquered for moisture resistance (hold up for years of enjoyment with proper care--so don't go scuba diving in them okay!) :-)
*Light weight and fun to wear!
My sister Khanh and I have made our own origami earrings for several years now and have sold them exclusively in our two retail fashion boutiques in the Colorado mountains: Breckenridge and Frisco. http://www.theflyingcrane.com/

We quickly realized that these earrings are a hit top seller. "So cute!" and "How beautiful!" is what we heard over and over again by our guests.
The earrings are so unique and beautiful because they are hand folded out of Washi paper, (wa means Japanese and shi means hand-made paper). We import the paper from Japan and create them in our
Breckenridge, Colorado studio.

Each piece takes a very long time to create because they are so tiny and each fold must be precise. But don't feel sorry for us because we love to make them for women who want to feel special when they wear them.
(The Dragonfly is a best seller!)

We will make a point of posting pictures of women who love our earrings as we go along this exciting journey!

In the meantime ask your local clothing or specialty boutique if they carry Origami Earrings by Flying Crane Jewelry Designs! :-)

Please understand that we are already back ordered because of such high demand (and it takes a long time to make so many perfectly!) so there might be a delay but don't worry we promise to get your earrings to you and hanging off of your cute ears really fast! :-)

We have a toll free number to call for information on where to get these earrings in your area:
1-877-668-2016
or email us at

(We love Brandy!)
